Monocle Cafe and Shop Zurich

Location: Zurich

Task: Design, Design Development and Construction Document

Press:Swiss-Architects

MACH designed and planned the first Swiss Monocle Café with an integrated store in Zurich. The "Trunk" clothing store opposite the café offers exquisite men's fashion. Inspired by the building from the 1960s, MACH created a new destination that greatly contributes to the liveliness of the dignified Seefeld quarter. Whether stopping by for a morning coffee or an after-work cocktail, the trend-conscious now meet at the elegant bar or under the shady awning, both of which echo the dark green of the building's façade.

With the selective use of wood, MACH created a homey atmosphere with international flair. In the clothing store, Swiss vintage furniture and photographs by Swiss photographer David Willen emphasize the connection to Swiss design culture.

Behind a large bronze mirror, another world extends: the Monocle offices with meeting rooms and the studio for M24, Monocle's in-house radio.
