"Tavolata"
The Raiffeisen branch in Engelburg is located opposite the Catholic Church of the Guardian Angels, a landmark of the municipality of Gaiserwald. The central location of the former post office building on the church square makes the branch a special meeting place.
The project is based on the idea of a large, simple community table, a Tavolata, where everyone is invited to meet. During consultations, customers and employees are greeted and treated at eye level. The tavolata is a central point in the store and offers customers a welcoming atmosphere, as if they were invited to a comfortable home.
The 13-meter-long tavolata acts as the structuring element of the elongated space. The table serves as a multifunctional meeting point for various activities such as customer reception, customer service, coffee bar, meetings and much more. This creates space for a generous and versatile customer area. This central space can be flexibly used and temporarily divided by a hidden curtain. Thus, it not only serves as a waiting area or information center, but also for other diverse uses such as training courses, lectures, seasonal events, apéros, or as a café.
