DZ Private Bank Office Zurich

Location: Zurich

Task: Concept, Design Development, General Planning

Collaboration: Allreal Holding AG, Glattpark

On the 4th and 5th floors, as well as the 2nd basement level, of the former Elektrowatt building at Bellerivestrasse 36 in Zurich, MACH designed the new Swiss headquarters for DZ PRIVATBANK, covering an area of over 2,000 m².

The core idea was to create a space specifically tailored to the needs of private clients and their advisors.  The design aimed to convey a sense of security and stability, while maintaining a modern, contemporary feel. Flexibility was also a key consideration to accommodate the bank’s future growth and changing requirements.

The project spans two floors and seven building wings, each housing different departments according to their collaborative functions.  On the 5th floor, facing the lake, MACH positioned the reception area, client meeting rooms, and a multifunctional space for internal and external events, complemented by a large terrace. The other building wings house the various departments, organized according to their collaborative activities. A well-organized locker system supports flexible seating arrangements, accommodating potential overcapacity of workstations. Room-in-room solutions, integrated meeting rooms, and dedicated workshop zones further divide and structure the space.

The technical infrastructure of the premises posed a particular challenge. Emergency power generators were installed to ensure seamless and secure operations for stock trading. Additionally, soundproof meeting rooms and a comprehensive security concept, particularly for the vault area, were implemented.

The building, fully refurbished by the Copenhagen-based architectural firm C.F. Møller, stands out for its high standards of material quality, sustainability, and functionality. In 2024, it was awarded the prestigious “European Green Award” for sustainability. These values are also reflected in the interior design of the 4th and 5th floors. In addition to the expansive views, the high-quality materials and integrated carpentry elements make this office a unique and enduring workplace on the shores of Lake Zurich.
